The Addlestone Singers are a group of ladies, of all ages and abilities who meet together each week to sing. Their music is very varied with performances throughout May and in December, held in aid of various local charities. This year we are pleased to have the group support the hospice.
Susan Higgins has been the Music Director since 2003. Susan studied music at Dartington Hall and later studied singing at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Walther Gruner. She won prizes and became a finalist in the Gold Medal Competition. Susan has also studied with Ann Howard and made her debut at the Wigmore Hall, as well as fulfilling a number of engagements for the BBC. She has given recitals and sung solos in oratorio and appeared on stage in opera productions.
Now with three choirs, and teaching music with pupils for violin and piano Susan also teaches singing in Adult Education which features her popular ‘Can’t Sing’ classes, hosting a regular ‘Singers’ Workshop’ for solo singers.
