The Trustees of the Health and Wellbeing Charitable Golf Trust (HWCGT) visited the hospice to present a cheque for £42,000. This incredible donation has been raised from Golf Days held in aid of the hospice from July 2021 up until March 2022 at Foxhills, Swinley Forest, New Zealand and The Berkshire.
“We would like to say a huge thank you to all those involved in these amazing charity golf days, the players, and the organisers those who donate raffle and auction prizes and the Golf Clubs for hosting these events. By working together you have helped to raise an incredible amount of vital funds for the hospice” commented Phil wormley Director of Fundraising, Woking & Sam Beare Hospice.
This latest contribution by the newly formed Health and Wellbeing Charitable Golf Trust builds on the success of the Woking and Sam Beare Hospice Golf Society which was previously ran internally by the hospice. The volunteer members of that society are now the founders of the new independent golf trust.
This latest donation brings the total amount raised from Charitable Golf Days organised by the Health and Wellbeing Charitable Golf Trust and the WSBH Golf Society to over £250,000.
Julian Wakeling Founder & Trustee of the HWCGT comments “This is a fantastic achievement and demonstrates how golf continues to bring our Community together in a special way by supporting the vital work of Woking Hospice, a very thank you to everybody who supported us and looking forward to pushing on for 2022/2023”.
If you would like to be part of the Golf Community in 2022/2023 either by playing at one of our golf days, to sponsor or donate to our auctions or as golf club host please get in contact with Julian Wakeling.
