Nursing Recruitment Fair well attended

On Wednesday 13 September we hosted a nursing recruitment fair at our new state-of-the-art hospice in Goldsworth Park, Woking. Health care professionals were given the opportunity to meet our fantastic and compassionate team, ask lots of questions and see our fabulous new facility with leading experts in palliative care, all set within a wonderful environment.

If you didn’t get a chance to come along, then you can still contact us, as we’re always looking for nurses who are passionate about end-of-life care in both the community and in an in-patient setting, and who embrace evidence based practice to provide the best patient focused care possible. You will be joining a highly professional, compassionate, empathetic, calm and positive team, where everyone from our housekeeping team all the way up to the Chief Executive are highly motivated to deliver the best care possible to the hundreds of patients and their families that we look after each year.

“This is more than a job and every day we can go home knowing that we’ve made a real difference to someone’s life and added great value,” Deputy Director of Nursing, Kelly Beckta.

By joining Woking & Sam Beare Hospices you will be part of an exciting new development in specialist palliative and end-of-life care, and will help deliver the very best to patients and their families and carers.

Read more about working for us in our downloadable Staff Nurse Information Guide.

The work of the hospice is hugely important to the local community and you will be a part of a team that makes a real and lasting difference to hundreds of patients and families each year.

“We are highly patient focused and take the time to look after families, carers and one another too,” Deputy Director of Nursing, Kelly Beckta.

We offer exceptional educational support via our in-house Practice Development Team and opportunities to attend palliative care modules, NHS Superannuation is recognised or we offer a 5% contributory pension scheme, clinical supervision is provided and childcare vouchers are available.

Other benefits include:

  • Working in a supportive environment within an organisation that offers a good work/life balance
  • Excellent training and development opportunities within an onsite education centre lead by sector experts
  • On-site café
  • Bike to work scheme
  • and much, much more

Woking & Sam Beare Hospices is a patient-centred charity that delivers specialist palliative care to the whole family. Our new hospice is located in Goldsworth Park Centre, Woking, but over 75% of our care is in the community across Spelthorne, Runnymede, West Elmbridge, Surrey Heath, Woking and North Guildford.

Our new state-of-the-art 20 bedroom hospice, each with en-suite bathrooms and balconies, was opened to our first patients in mid-May 2017. Our facility also boasts a Retreat Garden and a Wildlife Garden designed by landscape gardener Charlotte Harris, who won gold at the 2017 RHS Chelsea Flower Show, as well as excellent onsite staff facilities.

Read more about working for us in our downloadable Staff Nurse Information Guide.

You can also read this inspiring interview with our CEO, Jayne Cooper, about how she got to where she is now and why working for Woking & Sam Beare is so rewarding.
