Project Doorstep for the hospice

Local photographer Cheryl Catton has been supporting Woking & Sam Beare Hospices in a unique way with her “Project Doorstep” photo shoots, photographing Woking families on the doorsteps of their homes to capture this time in history.
“As a photographer I have an extremely strong desire to capture this period in our lives and I wanted to capture families on their doorsteps as a record of the people who you spent time with, riding out this storm” Cheryl commented “At this stage, I am not sure what the end product will be – a book, an exhibition or perhaps simply a blog. However, as always with photography, if it’s not captured at the time, there is no way of going back”.
Cheryl has not been charging for the mini doorstep sessions but has asked the families, who will receive a complimentary digital image as a keepsake, to make a donation to Woking & Sam Beare Hospices and has so far raised over £1,000.
“We are so grateful that Cheryl chose to support the hospice with this wonderful photography project” commented Marie Howse, Marketing Communications “We are also delighted with our hospice doorstep portraits”.
