Woking Volunteer of the Year Awards

Greenoak Housing Association Volunteer of the year awards were held on Friday 15 July at the WWF Living Planet Centre in Woking.  The awards recognise and celebrate the fantastic contribution that so many volunteers make to people’s lives in Woking Borough.

We had four of our amazing volunteers nominated Mary Lawrence and Andrea Glendenning for the Woking Volunteer of the Year award and Tim Nugent and Emily Betson for the Young Woking Volunteer of the year.

We are absolutely delighted to announce that Tim Nugent-Young won the Young Volunteer of the Year. It is an amazing achievement for him and wonderful to have his work for the hospice recognised in this way he also won £1000 for Woking & Sam Beare Hospices.

Emily Betson, Mary Lawrence, Andrea Glendenning also all received recognition awards each winning £100 for the hospice.

“Congratulations to Tim, Emily, Mary and Andrea we are so pleased that their contribution to the hospice has been recognised and awarded for their hard work and dedication to the charity” commented Gary Wood, Volunteer Services Manager “We have over 800 volunteers that are an integral part of our team and without the time and the skills they provide we cannot continue to deliver care to our patients, their families and carers”.
